This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create operational performance metrics in collaboration with program and advocacy teams.
• Assist teams in visualizing data to uncover budget risks and resource opportunities.
• Analyze data and deliver insights for strategic operational choices.
• Report on program operational health and performance to leadership.
• Manage Airtable bases, ensure data integrity, and train users.
• Map processes and identify bottlenecks in conjunction with cross-functional teams.
• Suggest process enhancements and manage the implementation of projects.
• Document best practices, procedures, and standard operating protocols.
• Create onboarding documentation, standardized templates, and workflows for Program Operations.
• Provide training to program operations leaders and new Program Operations staff on processes and systems.
• Lead teams in addressing complex or urgent operational challenges.
• Offer surge support for budget and grant management.
• Collaborate with Finance, Philanthropy, Legal, Human Resources, Accounts Payable, and program leaders.
• Report directly to the Senior Director of Program Operations within a matrixed environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in a related field.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in financial management, operations, or administration, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
• Experience in federal grant management is an advantage.
• At least 2 years of experience in influencing others with direct or indirect authority.
• Capability to adapt to shifting priorities and learn new processes and software.
• Proven project management skills while working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in analyzing datasets, synthesizing data, and presenting conclusions to leaders.
• Ability to communicate effectively and translate complex technical concepts into accessible language.
• Experience in gathering information from teams while minimizing their burden.
• A positive, solutions-focused changemaker mindset.
• Skillful in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in MS Word and PowerPoint.
• Advanced skills in Excel, including formula writing and data manipulation.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet, Airtable, or other project management tools.
• Commitment to equity, environmental justice, and the mission of NWF.
• Willingness to travel approximately 1–2 times per year, for 2–4 nights each trip.
• U.S. citizenship or valid U.S. work authorization is required.
