Operations Director – Application Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee the strategy, implementation, and operational excellence of enterprise applications, such as SAP ECC on HANA and associated systems.

• Provide visionary leadership for global teams focused on application development and operations.

• Manage budgeting for the department, staffing requirements, supplier partnerships, and service-level performance metrics.

• Promote professional growth, skill enhancement, and cross-training initiatives.

• Uphold accountability, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement within operations.

• Support user groups and business stakeholders across various functions and geographical regions.

• Participate in industry partnerships regarding emerging technologies and best practices.

• Direct the design, development, deployment, and support of enterprise applications.

• Ensure compliance with development governance, UX standards, and quality assurance processes.

• Supervise regression testing, transport processes, and activities of the Change Control Board.

• Manage interface maintenance in alignment with business workflows.

• Oversee updates, patches, enhancements, and performance tuning for SAP ECC on HANA.

• Ensure the execution of master data maintenance, job scheduling, and archiving processes.

• Lead the global readiness for deployment and operational simulations related to SAP.

• Maintain system stability, security, and compliance through break fixes, issue resolution, upgrades, vulnerability patching, small site deployments, application expansions, M&A/divestiture support, and SOX audit controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required, accompanied by 14 years of relevant work experience.

• A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in IT operations, application development, or enterprise systems management.

• Strong leadership experience managing technical teams and complex application environments.

• Proficiency in SAP ECC and HANA technologies.

• A demonstrated history of supporting compliance-driven environments, including SOX, MMAS, DFARS, and EX/IM.

• Experience with governance, vendor management, and collaboration across cross-functional stakeholders.

• Familiarity with the Scaled Agile development methodology.

• Experience leading globally distributed teams is preferred.

• Strategic thinking and long-range planning capabilities, with technical depth in application development and enterprise architecture, are preferred.

• A focus on operational rigor, attention to detail, problem-solving, and issue resolution is preferred.

• The ability to balance innovation with stability and compliance is preferred.

• Thought leadership in Information Technology is preferred.

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.
