Operations Associate, Trading and Margin

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as an associate within Brokerage Operations, providing registered supervision over inter-dealer market-making activities in corporate securities as well as margin lending and financing.

• Review and authorize trading and margin activities.

• Maintain established supervisory procedures.

• Serve as the escalation point for issues raised by trading, onboarding, and operations teams.

• Contribute to the development of the supervisory framework that enhances compliance as broker-dealer capabilities and products grow.

• Hold daily supervisory responsibility for market making and underwriting activities.

• Oversee daily trading operations, track real-time profit and loss (PnL), and manage risk limits across proprietary or agency trading desks.

• Issue and confirm margin calls.

• Manage day-trading account regulations.

• Establish house collateral haircuts.

• Address branch/client escalations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Series 57 and Series 24 licenses.

• Three to five years of direct experience in overseeing trading and/or margin activities.

• Proven experience supervising inter-dealer market making in corporate securities.

• In-depth expertise in Reg T and FINRA Rule 4210, as well as portfolio margin.

• Experience in managing daily trading operations, monitoring real-time profit and loss (PnL), and controlling risk limits across proprietary or agency trading desks.

• Experience in issuing and verifying margin calls, managing day-trading account rules, setting house collateral haircuts, and resolving branch/client escalations.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with dynamic processes.

• Candidates lacking all qualifications must have direct experience in at least one of the following areas: inter-dealer market making in corporate securities or margin financing.

• Prior experience in onboarding, securities lending, or other brokerage operational roles is preferred.

• Experience in underwriting or corporate actions is considered an advantage.
