Operations Associate – Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the daily queue of payment support requests.

• Act as the main point of contact for expert-related communications regarding payment issues, discrepancies, and disputes.

• Examine ticket issues by auditing contributor data and navigating complex payment systems with dynamic bonus structures.

• Identify errors and inconsistencies.

• Address contributor pay disputes through clear and professional communication.

• Escalate complex or sensitive matters as required.

• Develop and sustain SQL queries, scripts, automations, and payment audit dashboards.

• Enhance ticket investigation efficiency and minimize manual, repetitive tasks.

• Collaborate with Delivery, Operations, Finance, and Engineering teams.

• Resolve discrepancies and optimize payment workflows.

• Ensure payment compliance and data traceability for operational, audit, and accounting needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in customer support, payments, payroll, or finance operations.

• Familiarity with 1099 gig contractor compliance or payment strategy development.

• Understanding of compensation cycles, payment schedules, or contractor/contributor invoicing.

• Customer support experience managing end-user or customer-facing communications, including sensitive or disputed payment discussions.

• Technical skills in SQL, Google Sheets, scripting/automation, and report or visualization creation.

• Experience with workflow automation tools such as Airtable or Zapier.

• Proficiency in reporting/dashboard tools like Looker, Tableau, or Omni.

• Ability to independently handle a high-volume ticket queue while prioritizing concurrent requests with great attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Generative AI data workflows.

• Preferred: Experience in or related to data operations, expert networks, or human-in-the-loop systems.
