Broker Dealer Operations, Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform daily reconciliations of trades, positions, balances, and cash between Coinbase and Apex records.

• Analyze and rectify reconciliation discrepancies, ensuring thorough documentation.

• Assist with the onboarding and maintenance processes for customer accounts, which includes reviewing documentation, following up on statuses, and escalating exceptions as necessary.

• Manage the processing of inbound and outbound securities transfers (ACATs), from initial intake review and eligibility assessments through to submission, tracking, and resolution of any exceptions.

• Oversee operational alerts and exception queues.

• Focus on prioritizing issues that impact customers and risks, coordinating remediation efforts with Engineering, Product, Trading, CX, Compliance, Finance, and Apex.

• Facilitate corporate action operations by reviewing event notifications, tracking deadlines, validating allocations, and investigating discrepancies that arise post-event.

• Recognize recurring failure modes and suggest enhancements to minimize manual tasks, expedite resolution times, and improve customer results.

• Contribute to the daily operational processes that support Coinbase’s U.S. equities brokerage experience within the Coinbase Capital Markets team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in financial services operations, brokerage operations, clearing and settlement, trade support, or a similar operational control role.

• Proficient understanding of U.S. equities trade lifecycle concepts, including order processing, settlement, positions, cash movements, corporate actions, and account transfers.

• Proven experience in investigating data discrepancies or operational exceptions across various systems and effectively driving issues to documented resolutions.

• Capable of consistently adhering to documented procedures in a regulated setting while exercising sound judgment regarding exceptions not covered in the runbook.

• Familiarity with clearing platforms such as Apex Clearing, Jira, SQL, or workflow-automation tools utilized in brokerage operations.

• Responsible usage of generative AI with appropriate human oversight.
