Operations and Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and deploy automation solutions for spacecraft and ground station operations.

• Ensure the seamless execution of multiple missions and an expanding manifest with a small team of operators.

• Work in collaboration with engineers from all disciplines to implement satellite operation plans and uphold the continuity of satellite services.

• Examine telemetry data and satellite health reports to evaluate system performance and identify possible issues.

• Take proactive steps to implement preventive measures.

• Diagnose and resolve anomalies and system malfunctions.

• Carry out corrective actions to promptly restore satellite functionality.

• Organize and coordinate satellite maneuvers, including orbit adjustments and station-keeping.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for the integration of new satellites into the fleet.

• Ensure a seamless transition from the launch phase to operational status.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of project or industry experience in operating or automating complex systems.

• Proficiency in Python, Julia, or another high-level scripting language.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and capacity to make critical decisions under pressure.

• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and communicating effectively.

• Experience in automating complex systems.

• Operations experience with spacecraft, ground stations, or other intricate communication systems.

• Solid understanding of satellite subsystems, including power, propulsion, communication, and payload.

• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in satellite operations, including ITU and FCC regulations.

• This position requires access to export-controlled information and compliance with applicable U.S. Government export regulations.
