Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, set up, and manage API-driven integrations across platforms such as Slack, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Glean, Google Workspace, Workato, and other operational systems.

• Execute event triggers, synchronize data, handle webhooks, schedule jobs, and establish error-handling processes.

• Design and create Workato recipes and workflows to streamline multi-step business operations.

• Create Google Apps Script automations to enhance Google Sheets, Docs, and Drive functionalities.

• Build AI agent capabilities by defining tool schemas, connecting agents to APIs and knowledge bases, crafting system instructions, and developing action workflows.

• Develop operational experiences in Slack, including bots, slash commands, workflow automations, and notification systems.

• Integrate Glean into existing operational workflows.

• Collaborate with Customer Experience, Support, Operations, and other business teams to pinpoint and automate repetitive tasks.

• Monitor production automations and integrations, investigate issues, and coordinate resolutions.

• Maintain automation systems as APIs, schemas, platforms, security standards, and processes evolve.

• Produce documentation suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Collaborate with the Director of AI & Technology Operations to outline initiatives, define requirements, assess solutions, estimate workload, and manage a backlog effectively.

• Engage in testing, user acceptance testing, deployment, change management, and post-release validation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in software engineering, automation engineering, or systems integration, with a proven background in API usage.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proficient understanding of REST APIs, including OAuth flows, webhook design, pagination, rate limiting, error handling, and debugging using tools like Postman or curl.

• Practical experience with Google Apps Scripts, including writing triggers, calling external APIs, and creating tools for Google Sheets or Docs.

• Familiarity with an iPaaS or workflow automation platform such as Workato, Zapier, Make, or similar.

• Experience with Salesforce APIs, covering REST, Bulk API, or SOQL, along with knowledge of the Salesforce object model.

• Experience with ServiceNow APIs, including Table API, scripted REST, or IntegrationHub.

• Development experience on the Slack platform, including bots, slash commands, interactive message payloads, or Workflow Builder automation.

• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python and/or JavaScript.

• Capability to work autonomously, manage a personal backlog, and deliver effective solutions with minimal specifications.

• Must have eligibility to work in the US for full-time employment.
