Onset Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Initiate contact with relevant production and client personnel prior to the talent call time.

• Build a rapport with the 2nd Assistant Director.

• Gather I9’s, W2’s, W4’s, and any applicable minor trust documents.

• Collect and examine completed Talent Contracts alongside the client.

• Inspect contracts for any cross-outs and ensure client initials are present next to the company signature.

• Distribute copies of contract documents to Talent.

• Verify that performer costume photos are included with contracts.

• Meet with Union representatives as required.

• Ensure that performer dressing rooms are clean, appropriately heated or cooled, and separated when necessary.

• Validate that proper restroom facilities are available for use.

• Confirm that Craft Services offers a variety of beverage options.

• For minors, check in with the Nurse and make sure teaching and waiting areas are adequate.

• Coordinate with the client/production company regarding prior-day work for time reports.

• Assist in monitoring talent work hours, breaks, and overtime.

• Review monitors for potential upgrades for extras.

• Prepare talent estimates for upgrades upon request.

• Ensure the client submits contracts, W4s, I9s, production time reports, talent photos, releases and waivers, work permits, and minor trust account information to the Business Affairs/CMC Manager within 3 days of the shoot.

• Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

• 3-5 years of experience in on-set production.

• Familiarity with SAG-AFTRA Commercial CBA.

• Ability to work outside regular business hours, including weekends; willingness to travel as needed.

• Skill in managing challenging situations with tact.

• Attentive, intelligent, and proactive.

• Proficient with technology, capable of operating a laptop, portable scanner, and portable printer.
