Online Visiting Professor – Cybersecurity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Instruct both undergraduate and graduate-level courses focused on cybersecurity.

• Support student learning in line with the standards set by DeVry University.

• Create course syllabi and lesson plans that correspond with course and program goals.

• Organize, prepare, revise, and refresh course materials as needed.

• Utilize online tools, websites, email, online discussions, and course-specific software.

• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Communicate course objectives, assignment deadlines, examination dates, and grading criteria.

• Ensure that examinations correspond with terminal course objectives.

• Prepare and assess exams in a consistent and fair manner.

• Provide prompt feedback to students.

• Incorporate responsible AI technologies into teaching and learning practices.

• Identify, assess, and manage appropriate and inappropriate student use of AI tools.

• Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.

• A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in areas such as cybersecurity, information assurance, network security, digital forensics, or similar computing fields.

• Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be submitted with the application.

• Degree obtained from a recognized institution accredited by an agency acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or equivalent international accreditation.

• Three to five years of relevant professional experience in cybersecurity, information security, security operations, threat analysis, or digital risk management.

• Proven experience in network security, system hardening, vulnerability management, incident response, and security monitoring.

• Possession of industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials in cybersecurity, information assurance, or information security operations.

• Strong subject matter expertise in cybersecurity with the ability to convey complex security concepts to a varied audience.

• Understanding of cyber risk management, regulatory and compliance factors, ethical security practices, and responsible technology use.

• Commitment to continuous professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and ethical AI practices.

• Additional qualifications may be necessary based on state licensing, institutional policies, or accreditation standards.
