Online Visiting Professor, Cloud Computing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Instruct courses and programs in alignment with DeVry University standards

• Support student learning for both undergraduate and graduate learners

• Create course syllabi and lesson plans

• Implement teaching methodologies to meet course and program objectives

• Develop and deliver an approved syllabus adhering to the local campus format, inclusive of terminal course objectives

• Organize, prepare, frequently revise, and update course materials

• Utilize online tools and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions

• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills

• Establish course expectations, objectives, assignment and exam dates, along with evaluation weight distributions

• Ensure that exam content and difficulty align with course objectives

• Prepare and grade exams in a consistent and fair manner

• Provide prompt feedback to students

• Incorporate responsible AI technologies into classroom instruction and learning

• Identify, assess, and address both appropriate and inappropriate use of AI tools by students

• Complete additional responsibilities as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• A doctorate in Cloud Computing, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline is mandatory

• A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in cloud computing, distributed systems, networking, cybersecurity, or a related computing field

• Candidates must submit unofficial graduate-level transcripts

• Degrees must be conferred by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or by an international institution deemed to have equivalent accreditation

• Three to five years of practical professional experience in cloud computing, distributed infrastructure, virtualization, or cloud-native technologies

• Proven experience in cloud architecture and cloud-enabled software development, encompassing infrastructure provisioning, containerization, and application deployment within cloud environments

• Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials pertinent to cloud computing, cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps methodologies

• Strong expertise in cloud technologies

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to elucidate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience

• Understanding of secure and responsible cloud operations, including identity and access management, data protection, regulatory considerations, and best practices in cloud security

• Commitment to continuous professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices

• Additional requirements may be imposed by state licensing, institutional policy, or accreditation standards
