Online Science Tutor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver personalized one-on-one online tutoring to students.

• Provide tutoring in Science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, and related fields.

• Assist students ranging from 6th grade up to college level.

• Utilize knowledge of the U.S. curriculum and grading standards.

• Tutor multiple Science subjects to reach a broader student base.

• Optionally tutor Math to enhance schedule flexibility.

• Conduct adaptable remote tutoring sessions.

• Engage in a supportive tutor community for collaboration and professional growth.

• Complete onboarding and tutor activation in line with the staggered contract-signing schedule.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional teaching or tutoring experience.

• At least 1 year of relevant teaching or tutoring experience in the U.S.

• Must have taught or tutored within the last 2 years.

• A minimum of 1 year of online tutoring experience.

• Strong familiarity with the U.S. curriculum and grading standards.

• Capability to tutor Science subjects from 6th grade through college level.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Availability during peak hours from Monday to Thursday, 3 to 10 PM ET to connect with more students.

• Broader availability on weekdays and weekends is an advantage.

• Reliable and fast internet connection.

• Computer or laptop equipped with a microphone and camera.

• A stylus pen is highly recommended for clear annotations.

• A quiet and professional workspace.

• Direct, professional teaching or tutoring experience with students; TA experience, peer tutoring, grader roles, or lab assistant-only experience do not fulfill the requirements.
