Online Part Time Faculty – Religion

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Provide online instruction to undergraduate and/or graduate learners

• Initiate, facilitate, and monitor online classroom discussions

• Guide classes utilizing the Community of Inquiry Framework

• Assess and grade student work, assignments, and papers within established deadlines

• Offer constructive feedback to enhance student learning and achievement

• Actively participate in the online classroom and respond to emails at least every other day, including one weekend day

• Engage in ongoing professional development

• Conduct research and participate in professional engagement activities

• Attend meetings related to the discipline and administrative tasks

• Stay updated in the discipline through participation in professional communities

• Support initiatives and departments within APU/AMU

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's degree in Religion or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution is mandatory

• Experience teaching at the college level is essential

• Prior online teaching experience is preferred

• Proven record of excellence in teaching

• Submission of a CV and unofficial transcripts, including master's degree and higher, is required

• Foreign degrees necessitate a course-by-course evaluation by a NACES-approved organization

• Completion of the Engaging the First-Year Student Certification course (APUS110) within six months of employment

• Graduate Faculty must complete the Graduate Faculty Certification (APUS501) within 90 days of employment

• Adhere to APU/AMU policies, handbooks, and course requirements

• Function in a remote, professional work environment
