This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Recognize patterns that hinder students’ academic achievements.
• Carry out focused outreach and deliver instruction to both groups and individuals.
• Guide and educate students in CSE 110, CSE 111, CSE 210, and CSE 212.
• Assist students with programming content in Python and C#.
• Enhance learning through posts, announcements, emails, one-on-one virtual meetings, and videos.
• Address student inquiries and concerns regarding course material and assignments promptly.
• Maintain regular communication with students about their participation and performance.
• Implement outreach strategies for the entire class, groups, and individuals based on student trends and requirements.
• Monitor communication records and student interactions, planning follow-ups as necessary.
• Engage in regular training sessions and team meetings.
• Utilize training and feedback from evaluations to enhance performance.
• Instructors are responsible for teaching and overseeing course execution, but they do not create lessons, assessments, or assign grades.
• Applicants must be fluent in English and submit their applications in English.
• Only candidates who currently reside in Brazil and are authorized to work there are eligible.
• Fluency in both English and Portuguese is required.
• Strong understanding of and dedication to BYU-Pathway Worldwide’s mission, key characteristics, and student demographics.
• Ability to adapt to new processes, procedures, and technologies.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills; must be professional, respectful, and impartial in sensitive circumstances.
• Demonstrated dependability and capacity to meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
• Competence in Microsoft Office, video conferencing tools, and software specific to the discipline.
• Experience in online teaching/learning, particularly with at-risk learners, is preferred.
• A completed bachelor’s degree is the minimum requirement; in-progress transcripts and associate degrees are not acceptable.
• Proficiency in Python, C#, or Java is required.
• Expert knowledge of fundamental programming concepts, such as variables, data types, collections, loops, functions, libraries, I/O, error handling, and testing.
• Expert understanding of basic object-oriented programming concepts, including classes, methods, variables, and access modifiers.
• Familiarity with data structures and algorithms.
• Knowledge of abstraction, encapsulation, polymorphism, and inheritance.
• Experience with version control systems like GitHub.
• Experience with code editors, such as Visual Studio Code.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing.
• Candidates advancing to the next stage must submit official transcripts and a copy of their completed degree diploma.
• Academic documents must be officially recognized both in Brazil and the country of origin.
• Part-time remote position.
• Flexible schedule of 10–12 hours per week.
