Online ESL Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Deliver pull-out English Language Development (ELD) instruction based on WIDA assessment outcomes.

• Create and uphold a consistent online schedule that caters to student needs and learning levels.

• Tailor lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning styles and paces.

• Monitor and assess student progress.

• Provide clear and timely reports.

• Assist students with basic technology troubleshooting.

• Collaborate with educational teams while maintaining cultural responsiveness.

• Document pull-out sessions and communicate progress with students and internal teams.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a valid teaching certificate with an ESL endorsement.

• Either hold a Michigan Teaching Certificate with ESL Endorsement (NS), or have an ESL-endorsed certificate from another state and be prepared to obtain a Michigan Teaching Certificate with ESL Endorsement within 60 days of hire.

• Experience in teaching English Learners; experience in virtual teaching is a significant advantage.

• Proficient with online tools and video conferencing platforms.

• Culturally aware, collaborative, and well-organized.

• Capable of passing a background check and drug screening.

• Background check and fingerprinting are required upon hiring.

• Must not reside in the Pacific Time Zone.

• High-speed internet connection and a quiet, focused home workspace are mandatory.
