This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• Prepare, create, cook, and serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, bakery items, pastries, coffee, beverages, salads, sandwiches, meats, cheeses, and vegetables.
• Carry out pastry making tasks, including mixing, baking, and frying.
• Support supervisors in developing menus and recipes.
• Oversee and restock kitchen production items, ensuring proper rotation practices are followed.
• Assess daily requirements, complete production sheets, review maintenance reports, and confirm supply availability.
• Prepare, arrange, present, and refill food items in service areas.
• Utilize production sheets to identify required quantities.
• Operate food preparation machinery and cutting tools.
• Assist staff with food production and special assignments; serve on the service line when needed.
• Clean and sanitize preparation areas, salad bars, workstations, equipment, storage spaces, and other surfaces.
• Ensure serving lines, bars, and related areas are stocked, organized, and sanitized.
• Dispose of garbage and set up or dismantle tables, snack bars, display cases, and serving lines.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding meal items and any necessary backups.
• Complete menu display announcements.
• Handle or organize freight deliveries.
• Directly supervise assigned staff or manage through lead personnel.
• Maintain quality control, quantity standards, and overall sanitation.
• Assist in supervising and training food service staff.
• Guide others on proper produce and dairy rotation procedures.
• Ensure food production equipment and storage areas comply with sanitation, safety, and operational standards.
• Alert supervisors when safety and sanitation regulations are not fulfilled.
• Perform additional tasks that contribute to the success of the department or unit.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in restaurant cooking and/or baking.
• Proficient understanding of high-volume food production, bakery processes, food service roles, equipment, and supervisory practices.
• Must possess an Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification, or obtain it upon hiring.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment checks, which may include a drug test, physical assessment, and hearing evaluation.
• Capability to instruct and train others while managing multiple tasks concurrently.
• Ability to collaborate and function effectively as part of a team.
• Competence to make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Capacity to stand for 12 hours per shift during the scheduled rotation.
• Willingness to live in dormitory-style accommodations and comply with remote camp cleanliness standards.
• Must follow company and client safety protocols and regulations.
• Proficient in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.
• Must be able to travel by plane and/or bus to remote camps.
• Preferred: Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts or completion of a recognized formal training program from a National Association.
• Candidates lacking preferred vocational training should have an additional two (2) years of experience in this field.
• Preferred: At least two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity within a restaurant and/or industrial kitchen environment.
• Physical capability to perform specified lifting, carrying, pushing, stooping, squatting, kneeling, stair-climbing, and fit-for-duty evaluations.
• Candidates living outside the Anchorage area may be responsible for travel costs and accommodations related to pre-employment tasks in Anchorage, Alaska.
