OCI Cloud Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement and verify the security posture of OCI by managing IAM policies, network security groups, data encryption, and monitoring solutions.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy OCI-native security measures, including Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Security Advisor, and Threat Intelligence.

• Establish key management practices for encryption at rest across OCI storage, databases, and SaaS data, encompassing key rotation, versioning, and lifecycle policies.

• Integrate OCI logs and events within the enterprise SIEM and optimize them for effective detection.

• Automate security measures using Infrastructure as Code and contribute to defining technical standards for both cloud and on-premises environments.

• Collaborate with system administrators, application teams, and project teams to build, manage, and secure cloud workloads.

• Oversee the OCI-native security controls safeguarding federal health customer environments.

• Provide support to a cloud operations and migration team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 6 years of experience in cloud security engineering, solution engineering, enterprise architecture, or similar technical roles.

• Advanced, hands-on expertise with OCI security tools and OCI IAM.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform (preferred), OCI Resource Manager, or Ansible.

• Experience with the integration of OCI logs and events into a SIEM platform such as Splunk, Elastic, or Microsoft Sentinel.

• Strong understanding of security principles as they relate to compute, load balancing, WAF, API Gateway, and Functions.

• Capable of clearly articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to obtain and sustain a federal background investigation (Public Trust).

• Current OCI certification, such as OCI Security Professional or OCI Architect Professional (preferred).

• Active Public Trust clearance (preferred).

• Experience supporting federal government initiatives, particularly in federal health (preferred).

• Knowledge of regulated environments, including FedRAMP, HIPAA, NIST 800-53, and CIS benchmarks (preferred).

• Familiarity with Oracle Fusion Applications security (preferred).

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP in addition to OCI (preferred).

• Expertise in container security for Kubernetes and OKE, including image scanning and OS-level remediation of vulnerability scan results (preferred).
