Ocean Freight Export Operator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of ocean export shipments for designated clients, starting from receiving instructions to the final closure of files.

• Prepare, assess, and handle export documentation such as SLI, bills of lading, delivery orders, certificates of origin, insurance certificates, and export declarations utilizing GS-NET and CargoWise.

• Ensure that all documents adhere to company, carrier, and government timelines while complying with both domestic and international shipping regulations.

• Arrange, book, and verify cargo space availability with carriers.

• Coordinate vessel schedules and deliver shipment notifications to shippers, consignees, and destination offices.

• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing proactive updates and addressing any shipment inquiries.

• Report irregularities and operational challenges to the Supervisor or Manager.

• Calculate freight and insurance costs, maintain cost-effectiveness, and finalize shipment records.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate record-keeping, support operational KPIs, and maintain service standards.

• Assist the department with various operational tasks as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in freight forwarding or a degree in logistics, with a comprehensive understanding of ocean-export principles, practices, and documentation standards.

• Proficient in professional English for effective communication with customers, carriers, customs, and internal teams.

• Capability to present and influence effectively across all organizational levels.

• Confidence in using freight management systems and MS Office.

• Familiarity with CargoWise is advantageous.

• Ability to organize, prepare, and compile documents from various data sources while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Proficient in multitasking, prioritizing, and thriving under pressure.

• Ability to balance working independently with strong collaborative skills.

• Clear and service-oriented communication with a commitment to assisting customers throughout the export process.

• High attention to detail, proactive problem-solving abilities, and the initiative to excel in a fast-paced operational setting.
