Obesity Medicine Physician – Part-time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver direct patient care with an emphasis on evidence-based obesity treatment and chronic weight management.

• Evaluate patient charts and conduct visits to guarantee quality and continuity of care.

• Offer treatment planning and medical management assistance for complex cases or elevated concerns.

• Oversee a patient panel and/or collaborate with APPs and Registered Dietitians who specialize in obesity treatment.

• Work alongside and supervise APPs as necessary.

• Prescribe non-controlled obesity medications.

• Ensure adherence to clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways consistently.

• Engage in team-based care initiatives.

• Participate in relevant departmental meetings.

• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the obesity medicine program.

⛳️ Requirements

• Specialized in Obesity Medicine.

• Valid medical license allowing practice and prescription in any US state.

• Eligibility to obtain additional state licenses as necessary.

• Certification from the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

• MD or DO degree.

• Valid and current Board Certification in Obesity Medicine by ABOM.

• Proven clinical experience in obesity medicine and pharmacotherapy, including older generation oral and newer injectable medications.

• Active and unrestricted Medical State License in any US State.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an attending physician, post-residency, in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Obesity Medicine, OR completion of an accredited Fellowship program in Obesity Medicine in lieu of experience.

• Interest in mentoring, teaching, and collaborating with APPs and Registered Dietitians specializing in obesity medicine.

• Demonstrated experience working with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic environment.

• Commitment to evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy for endocrine disorders and obesity.

• Must currently be opted-in with Medicare.

• Dedication to patient-centered, culturally competent care.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Willingness to work in one of the following W2 roles: 32, 36, or 40 hours per week.

• Synchronous telehealth experience is preferred.

• Medical fluency in Spanish is desired but not mandatory.
