Obesity Medicine Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver direct patient care focused on evidence-based approaches to obesity treatment and chronic weight management.

• Review patient charts and conduct visits to ensure quality and continuity in care.

• Offer treatment planning and medical management support for complex cases or escalated issues.

• Manage a patient panel and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Registered Dietitians who specialize in obesity treatment.

• Collaborate with and supervise APPs as necessary.

• Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity management.

• Ensure that clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are adhered to consistently.

• Engage in team-based care initiatives.

• Attend relevant departmental meetings.

• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the obesity medicine program.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an MD or DO degree.

• Valid and current Board Certification in Obesity Medicine from the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

• Proven clinical experience in obesity medicine and pharmacotherapy, including both older oral medications and newer injectable options.

• Active and unrestricted Medical State License in any US State, with eligibility to obtain additional state licenses; IMLC preferred but not mandatory.

• A minimum of 2 years as an attending physician, post-residency, in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Obesity Medicine, OR completion of an accredited Fellowship program in Obesity Medicine as a substitute for years of experience.

• Interest in mentoring, teaching, and working collaboratively with APPs and Registered Dietitians focused on obesity medicine.

• Demonstrated experience collaborating with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic environment.

• Commitment to evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy for endocrine disorders and obesity.

• Willingness to work 32, 36, or 40 hours per week.

• Must currently be opted-in with Medicare.

• Dedicated to providing patient-centered, culturally competent care.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Experience with synchronous telehealth patient care is preferred.

• Bilingual medical fluency in Spanish is desired but not required.
