Obesity Medicine Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver direct patient care emphasizing evidence-based approaches for obesity treatment and chronic weight management.

• Review patient charts and conduct visits to maintain quality and continuity of care.

• Create treatment plans and offer medical management assistance for complex cases or escalated issues.

• Oversee an individual patient panel and/or collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Registered Dietitians.

• Collaborate with and supervise APPs as necessary.

• Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity management.

• Ensure adherence to clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways consistently.

• Engage in team-based care initiatives.

• Attend departmental meetings and contribute to efforts aimed at quality improvement.

• Dedicate 80% of work hours to clinical/patient-facing responsibilities and 20% to administrative tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO degree.

• Current Board Certification in Obesity Medicine from the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

• Proven clinical experience in obesity medicine and pharmacotherapy, including both older oral and newer injectable medications.

• Active and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state.

• Eligibility to acquire additional state licenses as necessary; IMLC is preferred but not mandatory.

• A minimum of 2 years as an attending physician post-residency in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Obesity Medicine, OR completion of an accredited Fellowship program in Obesity Medicine as a substitute for years of experience.

• Experience collaborating with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic environment.

• Familiarity with evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy for endocrine disorders and obesity.

• Availability for a W-2 schedule of 32, 36, or 40 hours per week.

• Currently opted-in with Medicare.

• Dedication to providing patient-centered, culturally competent care.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with synchronous telehealth is preferred.

• Medical fluency in Spanish is desirable but not compulsory.
