Obesity Medicine Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver direct patient care with a focus on evidence-based strategies for obesity treatment and chronic weight management.

• Review patient charts and conduct visits to guarantee high-quality and continuous care.

• Provide support for treatment planning and medical management for complex cases or urgent concerns.

• Manage a dedicated patient panel and/or collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Registered Dietitians who specialize in obesity treatment.

• Collaborate with and oversee APPs as necessary.

• Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity management.

• Maintain consistent adherence to clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways.

• Engage in team-based care initiatives.

• Attend pertinent departmental meetings.

• Contribute to quality enhancement efforts within the obesity medicine program.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO degree.

• Valid and active Board Certification in Obesity Medicine from the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

• Proven clinical experience in obesity medicine and pharmacotherapy, covering both older oral medications and newer injectable options.

• Active and unrestricted medical license in any US state.

• Eligibility to obtain additional state licenses; IMLC preferred but not mandatory.

• At least 2 years as an attending physician, post-residency, in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Obesity Medicine, OR completion of an accredited Fellowship program in Obesity Medicine in place of work experience.

• Experience collaborating with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic environment.

• Commitment to evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy for endocrine disorders and obesity.

• Availability for a W-2 role of 32, 36, or 40 hours per week.

• Currently opted-in with Medicare.

• Dedication to providing patient-centered, culturally competent care.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with synchronous telehealth patient care is preferred.

• Medical fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
