Obesity Medicine Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver direct patient care emphasizing evidence-based approaches to obesity treatment and chronic weight management.

• Review patient charts and conduct visits to maintain quality and continuity of care.

• Provide medical management and treatment planning support for complex cases or escalated issues.

• Manage a personal patient panel and/or collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Registered Dietitians who specialize in obesity treatment.

• Collaborate with and supervise APPs as necessary.

• Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity management.

• Ensure consistent adherence to clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways.

• Engage in team-based care initiatives.

• Attend departmental meetings and actively contribute to quality improvement efforts within the obesity medicine program.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO degree.

• Valid and current Board Certification in Obesity Medicine from the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

• Proven clinical experience in obesity medicine and pharmacotherapy, including both older generation oral and newer injectable medications.

• Active and unrestricted medical license in any US state, with the ability to obtain additional state licenses; IMLC is preferred but not mandatory.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an attending physician, post-residency, in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Obesity Medicine, OR completion of an accredited Fellowship in Obesity Medicine in lieu of experience.

• Interest in mentoring, educating, and collaborating with APPs and Registered Dietitians focused on obesity medicine.

• Demonstrated experience working with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic environment.

• Commitment to evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy for endocrine disorders and obesity.

• Willingness to work a W-2 role for 32, 36, or 40 hours per week.

• Currently enrolled with Medicare.

• Dedication to providing patient-centered and culturally competent care.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with synchronous telehealth patient care is preferred.

• Bilingual candidates with medical fluency in Spanish are desired but not required.
