Obesity Medicine Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver direct patient care that emphasizes evidence-based approaches to obesity treatment and chronic weight management.

• Evaluate patient charts and conduct visits to guarantee high-quality and continuous care.

• Offer treatment planning and medical management assistance for complex cases or urgent concerns.

• Oversee a patient panel and/or work collaboratively with APPs and Registered Dietitians who specialize in obesity treatment.

• Collaborate with and provide supervision to APPs when necessary.

• Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity.

• Ensure that clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are consistently adhered to.

• Engage in team-based care initiatives.

• Attend departmental meetings and actively contribute to quality improvement efforts within the obesity medicine program.

• Provide care through Form Health's telemedicine model, which includes video visits and associated digital patient engagement.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO degree required.

• Must hold a valid and current Board Certification in Obesity Medicine from the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

• Proven clinical experience in obesity medicine and pharmacotherapy, including both older oral medications and newer injectable options.

• Must possess an active and unrestricted medical state license in any US state.

• Ability to obtain additional state licenses as necessary; IMLC is preferred but not mandatory.

• At least 2 years of experience as an attending physician, after residency, in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Obesity Medicine, OR completion of an accredited Fellowship program in Obesity Medicine in lieu of experience.

• Experience collaborating with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic environment.

• Familiarity with evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy for endocrine disorders and obesity.

• Willingness to work 32, 36, or 40 hours per week.

• Currently opted-in with Medicare.

• Dedication to providing patient-centered, culturally competent care.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with synchronous telehealth patient care is preferred.

• Medical fluency in Spanish is desired but not essential.
