Obesity Medicine Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver direct patient care centered on evidence-based approaches for obesity treatment and chronic weight management.

• Review patient charts and conduct visits to guarantee quality and continuity of care.

• Offer treatment planning and medical management support for complex cases or escalated issues.

• Oversee an individual patient panel and/or collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Registered Dietitians.

• Work together with and supervise APPs as necessary.

• Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity management.

• Ensure adherence to clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways consistently.

• Engage in team-based care initiatives.

• Attend relevant departmental meetings.

• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the obesity medicine program.

⛳️ Requirements

• Specialization in Obesity Medicine.

• MD or DO degree required.

• Current Board Certification in Obesity Medicine from the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

• Proven clinical experience in obesity medicine and pharmacotherapy, including both older oral and newer injectable medications.

• Active and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state.

• Eligibility to obtain additional state licenses; IMLC is preferred but not mandatory.

• At least 2 years of experience as an attending physician post-residency in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Obesity Medicine, or completion of an accredited Fellowship program in Obesity Medicine in place of experience.

• Experience collaborating with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic environment.

• Commitment to evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy for endocrine disorders and obesity.

• Willingness to work 32, 36, or 40 hours per week in W-2 roles.

• Currently opted in with Medicare.

• Dedicated to providing patient-centered, culturally competent care.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Synchronous telehealth patient-care experience is preferred.

• Medical fluency in Spanish is desirable but not essential.
