Obesity Medicine Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver direct patient care with a focus on evidence-based approaches to obesity treatment and chronic weight management.

• Assess patient charts and conduct visits to guarantee quality and continuity of care.

• Offer treatment planning and medical management for complex cases or elevated concerns.

• Maintain a patient panel and/or work in collaboration with APPs and Registered Dietitians who specialize in obesity treatment.

• Collaborate with and oversee APPs as necessary.

• Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity management.

• Consistently adhere to clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways.

• Engage in team-based care initiatives.

• Attend pertinent departmental meetings.

• Contribute to quality enhancement efforts within the obesity medicine program.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO degree required.

• Valid and current Board Certification in Obesity Medicine from the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

• Proven clinical experience in obesity medicine and pharmacotherapy, encompassing older oral medications and newer injectable options.

• Active and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state.

• Eligibility to acquire additional state licenses as necessary; IMLC preferred but not mandatory.

• At least 2 years of experience as an attending physician, post-residency, in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Obesity Medicine, OR completion of an accredited Obesity Medicine Fellowship in place of experience.

• Interest in mentoring, teaching, and collaborating with APPs and Registered Dietitians in the field of obesity medicine.

• Demonstrated experience working alongside APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic environment.

• Commitment to evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy for endocrine disorders and obesity.

• Open to a W-2 role of 32, 36, or 40 hours per week.

• Currently opted-in with Medicare.

• Patient-centered and culturally competent approach to care.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with synchronous patient care in a telehealth context preferred.

• Medical fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
