Obesity Medicine Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Deliver direct patient care emphasizing evidence-based approaches for obesity treatment and chronic weight management.

• Assess patient charts and conduct visits to maintain quality and continuity of care.

• Offer treatment planning and medical management support for complex cases or escalated issues.

• Oversee a patient panel and/or collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Registered Dietitians specializing in obesity treatment.

• Work alongside and supervise APPs as required.

• Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity management.

• Ensure consistent adherence to clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways.

• Engage in team-based care initiatives.

• Participate in relevant departmental meetings.

• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the obesity medicine program.

• Dedicate 80% of work hours to clinical/patient-facing responsibilities and 20% to administrative tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO degree required.

• Current Board Certification in Obesity Medicine from the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

• Proven clinical experience in obesity medicine and pharmacotherapy, including older oral medications and newer injectable options.

• Active and unrestricted medical license in any US state.

• Eligibility to acquire additional state licenses as necessary; IMLC preferred but not mandatory.

• At least 2 years of experience as an attending physician, post-residency, in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Obesity Medicine, OR completion of an accredited Fellowship in Obesity Medicine in lieu of years of experience.

• Interest in mentoring, teaching, and working collaboratively with APPs and Registered Dietitians specializing in obesity medicine.

• Demonstrated experience in a clinical academic setting with APPs, medical residents, or trainees.

• Commitment to evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy for endocrine disorders and obesity.

• Willingness to consider W-2 roles with weekly hours of 32, 36, or 40.

• Currently opted-in with Medicare.

• Dedication to patient-centered, culturally competent care.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with synchronous telehealth patient care is preferred.

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is desired but not required.
