Obesity Medicine Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Deliver direct patient care with an emphasis on evidence-based obesity treatment and chronic weight management.

• Review patient charts and conduct visits to guarantee quality and continuity of care.

• Provide support for treatment planning and medical management in complex cases or elevated concerns.

• Oversee an individual patient panel and/or work collaboratively with APPs and Registered Dietitians who specialize in obesity treatment.

• Collaborate with and supervise APPs as necessary.

• Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity.

• Ensure consistent adherence to clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways.

• Engage in team-based care initiatives.

• Attend pertinent departmental meetings.

• Contribute to the quality improvement initiatives within the obesity medicine program.

• Allocate 80% of working hours to clinical/patient-facing responsibilities and 20% to administrative tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO degree required.

• Must possess a valid and current Board Certification in Obesity Medicine from the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

• Proven clinical experience in obesity medicine and pharmacotherapy, including both older oral medications and newer injectable therapies.

• Active and unrestricted medical license in any US state.

• Eligibility for obtaining additional state licenses as required.

• At least 2 years of experience as an attending physician, post-residency, in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Obesity Medicine, OR completion of an accredited Fellowship program in Obesity Medicine in lieu of years of experience.

• Interest in mentoring, teaching, and collaborating with APPs and Registered Dietitians specializing in obesity medicine.

• Demonstrated experience working with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic environment.

• Commitment to evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy for endocrine disorders and obesity.

• Open to one of the following W-2 roles: 32 hours/week, 36 hours/week, or 40 hours/week.

• Currently opted-in with Medicare.

• Dedication to patient-centered, culturally competent care.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in synchronous patient care within a telehealth context preferred.

• Medical fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
