
Nurse Practitioner, Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct thorough patient intake assessments for adolescents, encompassing medical history, risk factor evaluation, and eligibility determination.
• Request necessary laboratory tests and analyze the results.
• Raise any findings that fall outside program guidelines.
• Collaborate with patients and their families to create tailored care plans.
• Prescribe and oversee GLP-1 therapy when medically justified and within the scope of prescriptive authority.
• Offer comprehensive care that includes nutritional and behavioral support.
• Manage continuous care through follow-up visits, dosage adjustments, side effect and safety monitoring, and support for adherence.
• Work in coordination with physicians, nurse practitioners, registered dietitians, and health coaches.
• Adhere to clinical protocols and escalation processes as outlined in the supervising physician agreement.
• Bring complex or unclear cases to the attention of the supervising MD or Physician Lead.
• Valid, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (APRN) license in good standing.
• National board certification relevant to adolescent care, such as FNP-BC/FNP-C or PNP-PC.
• Active prescriptive authority.
• Commitment to obtaining and maintaining licensure and prescriptive authority in states where Balance operates.
• Willingness to enter into collaborative practice or supervision agreements as mandated by state law.
• Comfort and credibility in caring for adolescents and their families.
• Interest in adolescent and obesity medicine.
• Availability for 20–80 hours per month.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within an asynchronous, distributed telehealth care team under physician oversight.
• Certification in obesity medicine for advanced practice providers or a clear plan to achieve it (preferred).
• Previous experience in prescribing or managing GLP-1 therapy (preferred).
• Experience in telehealth (preferred).
• Familiarity with working alongside registered dietitians, behavioral health clinicians, and health coaches in a multidisciplinary approach (preferred).
• Multi-state licensure or a willingness to pursue it (preferred).
• Bilingual in Spanish and English or experience serving linguistically diverse pediatric populations (preferred).
• Authorization to work in the United States.
