Nurse Practitioner, Non-Acute Care – Virtual Ambulatory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver thorough patient care, encompassing diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and health promotion.

• Collaborate in both inpatient and outpatient environments as a member of a treatment team.

• Perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and function as a healthcare provider.

• Inform patients about preventative care measures and prescribed treatment plans.

• Ensure timely care coordination for specific patient populations under the supervision of a physician.

• Facilitate care coordination among healthcare providers and engage in interprofessional rounds.

• Execute initial, ongoing, and discharge health assessments.

• Recognize health characteristics, create care plans, implement interventions, and assess outcomes.

• Conduct invasive, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures within the scope of licensure and credentialed privileges.

• Spearhead initiatives aimed at improving quality, patient outcomes, and safety.

• Formulate and enforce patient safety protocols in collaboration with the interprofessional healthcare team.

• Exhibit leadership as a clinical resource, consultant, and advocate for patients.

• Mentor staff, foster professional development, and oversee Nurse Practitioner students and medical residents.

• Incorporate research and evidence-based practices into patient care.

• Engage in research, presentations, publications, and performance enhancement activities.

• Accurately document care, reduce length of stay, optimize operational efficiency, and help meet financial objectives.

• Complete and regularly update the My Development Plan.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited nursing institution.

• Graduation from a recognized Nurse Practitioners program.

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, advanced practice nurse, or nurse practitioner.

• Texas RN licensure, with a permanent Texas license required within 60 days of establishing residency in Texas.

• APRN Non-Acute Care state licensure.

• ANCC-recognized certification in Non-Acute Care.

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

• Prescriptive authority in Texas.

• DEA narcotics license to be obtained within 6 months.

• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.

• Skills in assessment, clinical practice, documentation, leadership, and analysis.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, time management, critical thinking, and clinical judgment abilities.

• Capability to work independently under the Nurse Practice Act.

• Effective communication skills with patients, physicians, family members, and colleagues.
