Nurse Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Perform concurrent reviews for inpatient admissions and ongoing stays.

• Assess clinical documentation to determine medical necessity based on established guidelines and evidence-based criteria.

• Collaborate with hospitals, physicians, utilization review departments, and care teams to ensure appropriate levels of care.

• Facilitate timely discharge planning and transitions of care.

• Monitor ongoing inpatient treatment and identify opportunities for enhancing healthcare utilization and outcomes.

• Communicate recommendations and clinical findings to healthcare providers and internal stakeholders.

• Promote effective resource utilization while upholding quality and compliance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license with Louisiana licensure or Compact RN licensure.

• Willingness and ability to obtain additional state licensure as required.

• A minimum of 5 years of inpatient clinical nursing experience.

• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.

• Ability to participate in rotating weekend coverage and holiday on-call schedules.

• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

• Direct/hardwired internet connection to a modem/router within 7 feet of the computer.

• Minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload.

• WiFi and satellite internet connections are not permitted.

• A quiet, secure, private home workspace that complies with CVS Health and HIPAA guidelines.

• Must reside in the state and city where currently living.

• Must provide personal workspace furniture.

• Comfortable with setting up and using multiple monitors and navigating various applications.

• Proficient in using email, calendar invites, Teams messaging, and virtual meetings.

• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications or similar Google Workspace tools.

• Ability to access secure systems such as VPN and EHR portals.

• Capable of managing strong passwords and recognizing suspicious emails or links.

• Ability to independently troubleshoot common technical issues.

• Willingness to learn new skills as the workplace continues to evolve.
