This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Conducts telephone triage in high-pressure, repetitive environments.
• Gathers data from patients/callers and performs assessments.
• Formulates working diagnoses and determines necessary interventions and dispositions in line with established guidelines.
• Assists patients/callers in assessing symptoms, evaluating treatment efficacy, and deciding when to reach out again.
• Records symptoms, concerns, nursing evaluations, advice given, and responses from patients/callers.
• Performs initial assessments for patients across all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
• Distinguishes between normal and abnormal findings, identifying potential issues.
• Provides education to patients/callers and evaluates their learning requirements.
• Identifies signs of abuse and makes suitable referrals.
• Reviews medication, dosages, allergies, health history, and immunization records.
• Oversees call-queue safety as the assigned team leader and serves as a liaison for staffing or interdisciplinary challenges.
• Acts as a resource for fellow staff members and offers feedback to supervisors.
• Selects relevant guidelines to inform patient/caller disposition decisions.
• Engages in quality improvement initiatives, documentation, and audio audits.
• Modifies dispositions based on nursing judgment considering the unique situations of patients/callers.
• Collects data to facilitate process and operational advancements.
• Incorporates quality assurance findings and new knowledge into nursing practice.
• Associate's Degree is mandatory.
• A minimum of two years of recent nursing experience is required.
• Current BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is necessary.
• RN-Registered Nurse license from DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies) is required.
• Must provide age-appropriate triage and treatment dispositions for callers ranging from newborns to adults, including OB and Worker's Compensation Injury Reporting.
• Proficient in utilizing computer software and related programs to triage and send reports to relevant agencies or clinics.
• Employs nursing judgment alongside computer software to determine appropriate dispositions and care recommendations.
• Capable of responding effectively to emergency situations.
• Ability to apply nursing principles, practices, and techniques.
• Must exercise initiative and judgment when selecting appropriate treatments.
• Proficient in using computers and computer systems.
• Strong computer skills are required.
• Bilingual skills are preferred.
