This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Conduct telephone triage in challenging, high-pressure, and repetitive environments.

• Gather patient and caller information while making informed assessments.

• Formulate working diagnoses and determine appropriate interventions and dispositions in accordance with established guidelines.

• Guide patients and callers in evaluating their symptoms, assessing treatment effectiveness, and knowing when to follow up.

• Record symptoms and complaints, nursing evaluations, advice provided, and responses from patients and callers.

• Adhere to policies, procedures, and protocols aimed at enhancing healthcare outcomes and accessibility.

• Carry out initial assessments for patients across various age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

• Distinguish between normal and abnormal findings while identifying potential issues.

• Educate patients and callers, ensuring comprehension of the information provided.

• Evaluate for signs of abuse and make the necessary referrals.

• Review medications, dosages, allergies, health history, and immunization records.

• Ensure call-queue safety and serve as a point of contact for staffing or interdisciplinary concerns when designated.

• Serve as a resource for colleagues and provide constructive feedback to supervisors.

• Analyze assessment information and select suitable guidelines for care.

• Maintain clear and concise documentation that accurately reflects nursing evaluations and care recommendations.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, documentation, and audio audits.

• Modify dispositions based on the specific needs of patients and callers utilizing nursing judgment.

• Incorporate quality improvement and audit findings into daily practice.

• Recognize personal learning needs and integrate new knowledge into nursing practice.


⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate's Degree is required.

• A minimum of two years of recent nursing experience is mandatory.

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) from AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.

• RN-Registered Nurse license from DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies is necessary.

• Ability to provide age-appropriate triage and treatment dispositions for all callers, from newborns to adults, including OB and Workers' Compensation Injury Reporting is required.

• Proficiency in utilizing computer software and related programs for triage and report submissions to relevant agencies or clinics is essential.

• Employ nursing judgment in conjunction with computer software to arrive at appropriate dispositions and care advice.

• Capability to respond effectively to emergency situations is required.

• Ability to apply nursing principles, practices, and techniques is essential.

• Initiative and judgment in selecting suitable treatments are necessary.

• Proficient use of computers and computer systems is required.

• Strong computer skills are essential.

• Bilingual skills are preferred.

• All candidates for safety-sensitive positions must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test following a conditional job offer.
