This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Conduct telephone triage while managing demanding, stressful, and repetitive situations.
• Gather patient and caller information and make informed assessments.
• Create working diagnoses and determine appropriate interventions and dispositions in line with established guidelines.
• Guide patients and callers on how to assess symptoms, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and know when to follow up.
• Record symptoms, complaints, nursing assessments, advice provided, and responses from patients and callers.
• Carry out initial assessments for patients across all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Differentiate between normal and abnormal findings and identify potential issues.
• Educate patients and callers, evaluating their learning requirements.
• Assess for signs of abuse and make the necessary referrals.
• Review medications, dosages, allergies, and immunization records.
• Oversee call-queue safety as the designated team leader and serve as a liaison for staffing or interdisciplinary concerns.
• Act as a resource for staff and provide constructive feedback to supervisors.
• Choose suitable guidelines and dispositions, applying nursing judgment to modify dispositions when necessary.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, documentation, and audio audits.
• Incorporate audit findings and new insights into clinical practice.
• Identify opportunities for process and operational enhancements and gather supporting data.
• Associate's Degree is required.
• A minimum of two years of recent nursing experience is required.
• BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
• RN-Registered Nurse license from DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies is required.
• Must provide age-appropriate triage and treatment dispositions for all callers, from newborns to adults, including OB and Worker's Compensation Injury Reporting.
• Proficient in using computer software and related programs for triaging and sending reports to the appropriate agencies or clinics.
• Applies nursing judgment in conjunction with the computer software program to determine suitable dispositions and care advice.
• Capable of responding effectively to emergency situations.
• Ability to apply nursing principles, practices, and techniques.
• Capable of exercising initiative and judgment in selecting appropriate treatments.
• Proficient in using computers and computer systems.
• Computer skills are essential.
• Bilingual skills are preferred.
