This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Conducts telephone triage in high-pressure, repetitive environments.

• Gathers data, formulates assessments, establishes working diagnoses, determines interventions, and decides on dispositions in accordance with established guidelines.

• Guides patients and callers on how to interpret normal and abnormal symptoms, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and when to seek further assistance.

• Logs symptoms, complaints, nursing assessments, advice given, and responses from patients or callers.

• Adheres to policies, procedures, and protocols aimed at enhancing healthcare outcomes and ensuring access to suitable care.

• Performs initial assessments for patients across all age groups including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

• Distinguishes between normal and abnormal findings while identifying potential issues.

• Provides education to patients and callers while evaluating their learning requirements.

• Evaluates signs of abuse and makes necessary referrals.

• Reviews medications, dosages, allergies, health history, and immunization records.

• Acts as team leader when tasked with monitoring call queue safety and coordinating staffing or interdisciplinary concerns.

• Serves as a resource for colleagues and offers feedback to supervisors.

• Chooses suitable guidelines and advises on dispositions based on assessment data and nursing judgment.

• Engages in quality improvement, documentation, and audio audits.

• Incorporates audit findings and quality improvement initiatives into practice.

• Identifies opportunities for process and operational enhancements and gathers supporting data.

• Acknowledges personal learning needs and integrates new insights into practice.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree is required.

• A minimum of two years of recent nursing experience is required.

• BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.

• RN-Registered Nurse licensure from DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies is required.

• Must provide age-appropriate triage and treatment dispositions for all callers, from newborns to adults, including OB and Worker's Compensation Injury Reporting.

• Proficiency in computer software and related programs to triage and relay reports to relevant agencies or clinics is required.

• Ability to utilize nursing judgment alongside the computer software to arrive at suitable dispositions and care recommendations is required.

• Capacity to respond effectively to emergency situations is required.

• Competence in applying nursing principles, practices, and techniques is required.

• Initiative and judgment in selecting appropriate treatments is required.

• Proficient in using computers and computer systems is required.

• Strong computer skills are required.

• Bilingual abilities are preferred.
