This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Conducts telephone triage in high-pressure, repetitive environments.

• Gathers patient and caller information to make informed assessments.

• Establishes working diagnoses and determines interventions and outcomes as per established guidelines.

• Assists patients and callers in assessing symptoms, evaluating treatment effectiveness, and advising on when to follow up.

• Records symptoms, complaints, nursing assessments, advice given, and responses from patients and callers.

• Performs initial evaluations for patients across all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

• Assesses age-appropriate care advice and distinguishes between normal and abnormal findings.

• Responds appropriately to critical situations.

• Educates patients and callers while assessing their learning needs.

• Evaluates signs of abuse and makes necessary referrals.

• Reviews medications, dosages, allergies, health histories, and immunization records.

• Acts as a team leader when responsible for monitoring call queue safety.

• Serves as a liaison for staffing or interdisciplinary concerns and provides resources for staff members.

• Offers constructive feedback to supervisors.

• Chooses appropriate guidelines and outcomes based on assessment data.

• Engages in quality improvement initiatives, documentation, and audio audits.

• Modifies outcomes according to the needs of patients and callers using nursing judgment.

• Incorporates findings from quality improvement and audits into practice.

• Identifies opportunities for process and operational enhancements and gathers relevant data.

• Recognizes personal learning needs and integrates new knowledge into professional practice.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree is mandatory.

• A minimum of two years of recent nursing experience is essential.

• BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.

• RN-Registered Nurse license from DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies is necessary.

• Must provide age-appropriate triage and treatment recommendations for all callers, from newborns to adults, including OB and Worker's Compensation Injury Reporting.

• Proficiency in using computer software and related programs to triage and send reports to relevant agencies or clinics is required.

• Must utilize nursing judgment alongside the computer software program to determine appropriate dispositions and care advice.

• Capable of responding appropriately to emergency situations.

• Ability to apply nursing principles, practices, and techniques is required.

• Must exercise initiative and judgment in selecting suitable treatment options.

• Proficiency in using computers and computer systems is required.

• Strong computer skills are necessary.

• Bilingual skills are preferred.

• Additional computer skills are advantageous.
