This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Finland.
• Oversee, coordinate, and assist with activities pertaining to geological site characterizations.
• Oversee, coordinate, and assist with rock construction or construction site and logistics planning.
• Engage in investigations, assessments, and tasks that support geological characterizations, as well as construction and excavation planning.
• Evaluate the effects of geological site conditions on plant designs and site layouts.
• Plan arrangements for cooling water.
• Contribute significantly to the advancement of Fortum’s New Nuclear business.
• Acquire knowledge about the development of a nuclear newbuild project.
• Work in a fixed-term role as part of the Nordic Nuclear Trainee Program.
• Participate in trainee activities, modules, seminars, assignments, site visits, and networking opportunities across the Nordic nuclear sector.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as civil/rock engineering, rock construction, or geology.
• A few years of pertinent work experience.
• Experience in geological surveys, drilling, rock or tunnel excavation, construction, or planning for construction sites and logistics.
• Proficient command of English, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in Finnish and/or Swedish is advantageous.
• General knowledge of geology and hydrogeology.
• General understanding of geological and geophysical investigations.
• Familiarity with the collection, handling, and modeling of geological information, including 3D visualization.
• Understanding of excavation techniques and rock construction.
• Experience and knowledge from large infrastructure construction projects is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional environments.
• Systematic, organized, and goal-oriented approach.
• Strong motivation to complete projects and assignments within set schedules and milestones.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Effective skills in problem identification and resolution.
• Strong sense of responsibility.
• Successful completion of a background check and a health examination, including drug testing.
