NPI Project Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development of program-specific sourcing strategies for New Product Introduction (NPI), retrofitting, and various cross-functional projects.

• Act as a procurement partner for Engineering and Program Management throughout the entire development lifecycle.

• Collaborate with Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Sourcing Operations, Engineering, and suppliers to monitor sourcing needs, decisions, and dependencies.

• Oversee the program-level procurement status, which includes supplier readiness, costs, schedules, material risks, and critical sourcing milestones.

• Identify and highlight risks related to sourcing, suppliers, costs, and schedules.

• Aid Engineering in ensuring that designs align with approved and preferred suppliers prior to finalizing the designs.

• Collect supplier quotes, pricing, and cost data for product cost models, value engineering efforts, and sourcing decisions.

• Factor in aftersales elements such as spare parts, serviceability, warranty, and lifecycle costs into sourcing activities during the development phase.

• Manage multiple simultaneous programs and adapt priorities as project schedules change.

• Facilitate the transition of programs from development to stable procurement and sourcing operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or project/program management.

• Proven experience in supporting NPI, product development, or cross-functional programs within a technical or manufacturing setting.

• Familiarity with sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing processes.

• Strong skills in project management, analytics, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems; SAP experience is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel is preferred.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Capability to drive and/or fly to client and customer locations.

• Willingness to adjust to project meeting schedules.
