This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Engage actively in the development of trading strategies and models within the energy and commodities sectors.
• Execute trades across various Independent System Operator (ISO) markets and exchanges.
• Manage virtual transactions while taking part in auctions and energy trading activities.
• Work collaboratively with a team dedicated to identifying energy trading opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with risk management protocols throughout the execution of trades.
• Enhance the performance of the existing Point-to-Point Obligation Bid (PTP) and daily spread trading programs in terms of profitability and volume, ensuring alignment with the Company’s risk metrics.
• Foster the advancement of virtual trading for supply (INCs) and demand (DECs) by analyzing fundamentals like weather conditions, load, unit outages, and transmission interruptions.
• Create profitable FTR/CRR portfolios, both on a monthly basis and for longer durations.
• Design and implement power flow simulator-based analysis programs for trading PTPs, VTs, and FTRs / CRRs.
• Supplement nodal trading with transactions in natural gas and electric power futures, as well as other exchange-traded derivatives on commodity exchanges.
• Ensure that all trading activities remain within established risk limits.
• Contribute to the enhancement of current risk metrics to accurately reflect the risks associated with nodal and futures/options trading.
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of our existing risk measurement and management processes.
• Be capable of independently managing a profitable trading book, net of all pertinent expenses (commonly referred to as seat costs).

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team as well as independently handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Direct experience with nodal markets and/or futures markets.
• Familiarity with ISO transmission systems.
• Understanding of the ISO supply stacks.
• Experience with power flow simulation tools such as PowerWorld or similar software.
• Proficiency in analyzing supply and demand dynamics in the ISO and futures markets.
• Capability to generate or utilize short-term and long-term price forecasts for natural gas and electricity at various settlement points to facilitate profitable trading.

• Programming experience in VBA, C#, Matlab, Mathematica, SQL, R, or Python.
• An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Financial Engineering, Finance, Mathematical and Computational Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
