This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Assess news articles, reports, scripts, and various journalistic outputs for accuracy and professional standards.

• Determine if reporting effectively differentiates established facts, analysis, and commentary.

• Spot factual inaccuracies, unsupported claims, lack of context, and misleading presentations.

• Evaluate the structure of stories, narrative clarity, relevance, and editorial integrity.

• Analyze commentary and analyses for factual accuracy, logical consistency, appropriate context, analytical shortcomings, exaggerations, and unsupported conclusions.

• Assess the quality, credibility, relevance, evidentiary support, and interpretation of facts and statements from sources.

• Review the selection of stories, prioritization, framing, headlines, leads, structure, emphasis, and other editorial decisions.

• Evaluate print, digital, broadcast, narrated, and written news content for accuracy, clarity, pacing, and appropriateness of format.

• Compare different journalistic responses or outputs and highlight variations in reporting rigor and professional defensibility.

• Differentiate between significant journalistic issues and minor stylistic preferences.

• Provide succinct, evidence-based written feedback.

• Maintain consistent evaluation standards across various assignments.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in journalism, reporting, news analysis, broadcast news, or a closely related domain.

• Previous experience as a Reporter, News Reporter, Journalist, News Anchor, Staff Writer, or in a similar news role.

• Proven experience in writing, narrating, or analyzing news stories, reviews, or commentary.

• Professional background across print, broadcast, digital, or other media communications.

• Strong editorial judgment with the ability to assess sourcing, factual accuracy, and the quality of reporting.

• Capability to evaluate story selection, source credibility, fact interpretation, and editorial presentation decisions.

• Excellent written communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently and deliver precise professional feedback.

• Availability for 20 or more hours per week.

• All work must be completed without utilizing confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, institution, source, or third party.

• H1-B and STEM OPT support is not available for this position.
