This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create content for various platforms including web, mobile, print, and more.
• Develop daily story ideas and adjust to the evolving priorities of the newsroom.
• Utilize social media and digital tools to spot breaking news and understand audience interests.
• Build relationships with sources to uncover stories and help shape the news agenda.
• Collaborate with digital teams to produce engaging multimedia content, encompassing text, images, and video.
• Report on a diverse array of news topics while adhering to tight deadlines.
• Availability to work on weekends and statutory holidays is required.
• Student or graduate from a journalism program, or a related field.
• Competence in quickly organizing and prioritizing tasks in a newsroom environment.
• Adaptability to work on breaking news, features, short-form content, and unconventional story formats.
• An inquisitive nature and the ability to discover unique story angles.
• Skill in articulating the reasons and processes behind events, conveying meaning succinctly.
• Experience and proficiency in video, podcasting, and other digital media tools are advantageous.
• A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle access are beneficial.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French is a plus.
• Submission of a cover letter, résumé, three samples of published work (if available), and at least two signed references is required with the application.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Opportunity for remote work based in New Brunswick.

• Possibility of being assigned to other Postmedia newsrooms upon mutual consent.
