Network Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Deliver Level 2 technical support for enterprise and data center network infrastructure.

• Identify and resolve network incidents, connectivity challenges, and service requests.

• Troubleshoot issues related to routing, switching, firewalls, and network performance.

• Monitor network infrastructure and react to alerts and events that may impact services.

• Execute approved network configurations, modifications, upgrades, and hardware replacements.

• Engage in structured troubleshooting and escalate complex or unresolved issues to Level 3 engineering teams.

• Assist with incident, problem, and change management processes.

• Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and cross-functional infrastructure teams to address network issues.

• Keep accurate network documentation, configuration records, and troubleshooting protocols.

• Take part in network maintenance, service restoration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure that all work adheres to established security, operational, and change management standards.

• Foster productive working relationships both internally and externally.

• Apply judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine the appropriate course of action.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from an accredited four-year college or university and 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.

• Comprehensive understanding of routing, switching, server operating systems, firewalls, wireless controllers, DNS, email, virtual machines, and software applications.

• Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies.

• Knowledge of server hardware technologies related to content delivery performance and capacity.

• Capability to perform office-related tasks, including prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

• Ability to navigate within an office environment.

• Proficiency in using a computer.

• Strong communication skills.

• Some positions may necessitate occasional repetitive motions or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

• Industry-recognized networking certification such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, Arista ACE, or a comparable qualification (preferred).

• Experience in supporting data center, enterprise, or 24/7 network operations environments (preferred).

• Exposure to network automation or scripting (preferred).
