IT Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in strategic planning with clients, focusing on identifying and analyzing projects that meet both strategic and operational requirements.

• Fulfill assigned project commitments utilizing the client team as needed and as agreed upon with team leaders.

• Take part in daily planning, monitoring, scheduling, and execution of project tasks.

• Create and implement network architectures that support reliable business operations and align with client goals.

• Evaluate clients' existing network conditions and pinpoint areas for improvement in efficiency, security, and reliability through metrics collection and trend analysis.

• Develop and construct cloud networking solutions across Azure, AWS, and Google platforms.

• Install firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless networking equipment.

• Assess emerging technologies and products, and establish standard operating procedures for network implementation.

• Work collaboratively with security teams to ensure that solutions comply with NIST CSF, NIST 800/53, ISO 2700x, SOC, HIPAA, and PCI DSS standards.

• Create documentation detailing network standards, configurations, procedures, and cabling layouts.

• Write, design, and present operational documentation, including network and closet diagrams.

• Ensure that network designs and deployments are thoroughly documented and can be supported by the Service Team.

• Provide mentorship to team members regarding technical challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies within datacenter and cloud environments.

• Demonstrated leadership experience and/or potential.

• Technical certifications such as CCNP, NSE4-6, PCNSE, AZ-700, etc., are highly preferred.

• Proficiency in LAN, WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF protocols.

• Comprehensive understanding of NGFW, IPS, IPsec VPN, and SSLVPN technologies.

• Experience in cloud networking solutions with AWS, Azure, and Google.

• Background in planning, designing, and deploying network architectures at scale using Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Cisco technologies.

• Proven expertise in network capacity and performance planning, as well as monitoring.

• In-depth knowledge of 802.11 wireless principles.

• Strong competency in end-user device connectivity.

• Extensive knowledge of QoS and traffic shaping methodologies.

• Familiarity with 802.1X and SAML/SSO implementation strategies.

• Proven capability to analyze and resolve tier 3 network incidents.

• Experience with executing medium to large-scale projects.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent client service abilities.

• Proven aptitude for producing detailed technical documentation.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Willingness to travel locally and nationally as required, approximately 25% of the time.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without the need for sponsorship.
