Network Construction Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with Fiber Engineers

• Oversee external vendors to ensure timely and budget-friendly project completion

• Perform initial constructability assessments aligned with project specifications

• Create construction bid packages and competitively solicit bids from subcontractors

• Manage the development of permits and construction plans

• Order and monitor the delivery of third-party materials

• Supervise site construction, schedules, and subcontractors

• Coordinate construction activities with local and state agencies pertaining to permitting and licensing

• Participate in company and client status meetings

• Relay milestones, delivery status, and updates to leadership and project management/service delivery teams

• Maintain precise job records within the project tracking system

• Act as a safety observer and Quality Assurance representative at project locations

• Ensure competitive construction pricing and negotiate project costs

• Hold vendors accountable for adhering to project budgets

• Identify and relay issues impacting project completion or costs

• Troubleshoot onsite issues and propose solutions

• Ensure compliance with construction standards, processes, and procedures

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• A minimum of a 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience

• A valid driver’s license is required

• One (1) to three (3) years of construction experience

• One (1) to three (3) years of hands-on telecommunications experience

• Three (3) years of supervisory contractor construction experience is preferred

• Preferred knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (both aerial and underground)

• Familiarity with Grounding and Bonding Tests, RF Sweep test, OTDR, Optical Power Meter, and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing is preferred

• Working knowledge of NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards is preferred

• Preference for a BSCE or equivalent work experience

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint)

• PMP certification is a plus

• Exceptional organizational and administrative skills

• Strong project management abilities with a keen attention to detail

• Basic understanding of telecommunications

• Willingness to travel to project sites 50% to 90% of the time

• Capability to participate in on-call rotation
