This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Spearhead the formulation and execution of national clinical education strategies for Abbott's LAA franchise.
• Create, implement, and consistently refine educational pathways that enhance Amulet procedural success.
• Develop and uphold competency frameworks for Clinical Specialists and Territory Managers who support LAA accounts.
• Produce standardized training materials, procedural guides, best practices, and advanced educational content.
• Ensure alignment of field education with strategic business aims.
• Design and manage onboarding and advanced development programs for clinical specialists.
• Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, and certification programs.
• Guide clinical leaders, high-potential specialists, and regional trainers.
• Evaluate field clinical proficiency and pinpoint opportunities for performance enhancement.
• Establish and advocate best practices for patient selection, procedural workflow, imaging integration, implantation techniques, and post-procedure care.
• Promote procedural excellence through strategic account engagement and consultation.
• Recognize procedural trends and create initiatives aimed at improving clinical outcomes and efficiency.
• Offer expert guidance during intricate cases and significant account launches.
• Convert clinical insights into educational programs and actionable recommendations.
• Work collaboratively with commercial leadership to bolster strategic account initiatives and business growth.
• Act as a clinical consultant during customer interactions, physician meetings, and educational programs.
• Partner with Marketing, Clinical Research, Medical Affairs, Professional Education, Training, and Commercial Excellence teams.
• Contribute to product launch readiness, educational planning, and strategic initiatives.
• Assist in preparing executive-level presentations and business reviews.
• Identify educational opportunities and propose strategic enhancements as the national representative of the field.
• Develop and assess performance metrics, dashboards, and educational KPIs.
• Leverage data to uncover trends, predict educational needs, and evaluate organizational efficiency.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• At least 8+ years of experience in cardiovascular medical devices, structural heart, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, or related healthcare fields.
• Proven expertise in LAAO therapies, structural heart procedures, or catheter-based cardiovascular interventions.
• Significant experience in training physicians, allied health professionals, and field-based clinical personnel.
• Demonstrated capability in developing and implementing educational programs at regional or national scales.
• Deep understanding of procedural workflows, imaging modalities, and cardiovascular anatomy related to LAA closure procedures.
• Ability to influence and collaborate within a highly matrixed environment.
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively, up to 60% of the time.
• An advanced clinical degree (RN, NP, PA, RCIS, CVT, Perfusion, or equivalent clinical background) is preferred.
• Previous experience in Structural Heart, LAAO, or Stroke Prevention therapies is preferred.
• Experience in leading national training or commercial development initiatives is preferred.
• Background in professional education, field training, or sales training is preferred.
• Prior experience in people leadership or mentorship is preferred.
• An MBA, Master's degree, or advanced healthcare degree is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in business intelligence platforms and performance metrics is preferred.
