National Advanced Clinical Education Specialist, LAAO – Northeast Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation and implementation of national clinical education strategies for Abbott's LAA franchise.

• Design, execute, and improve educational pathways that ensure Amulet procedural success.

• Establish and uphold competency frameworks for Clinical Specialists and Territory Managers.

• Create standardized training materials, procedural guides, best practices, and advanced educational content.

• Collaborate with Professional Education and Commercial Development teams to align field education with business goals.

• Develop and manage onboarding and advanced development programs for clinical specialists.

• Conduct both in-person and virtual training programs, workshops, and certification initiatives.

• Mentor clinical leaders, high-potential specialists, and regional trainers.

• Evaluate field clinical proficiency and identify areas for performance improvement.

• Establish and promote best practices for patient selection, procedural workflow, imaging integration, implantation techniques, and post-procedure care.

• Support procedural excellence through strategic account engagement and consultation.

• Provide expert guidance during complex cases and high-profile account launches.

• Collaborate with commercial, clinical, marketing, research, medical affairs, training, and excellence teams.

• Support strategic account initiatives, customer interactions, physician meetings, and educational programs.

• Contribute to product launch readiness, educational planning, executive presentations, and business reviews.

• Develop and analyze performance metrics, dashboards, and educational KPIs.

• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

• Travel extensively.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.

• At least 8+ years of experience in cardiovascular medical devices, structural heart, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, or related healthcare sectors.

• Proven expertise in LAAO therapies, structural heart procedures, or catheter-based cardiovascular interventions.

• Extensive experience in training physicians, allied health professionals, and field-based clinical personnel.

• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing educational programs at either a regional or national level.

• Strong understanding of procedural workflows, imaging modalities, and cardiovascular anatomy relevant to LAA closure procedures.

• Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across a highly matrixed environment.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

• Strong organizational and project management abilities.

• Willingness to travel extensively, up to 60%.

• Advanced clinical degree (RN, NP, PA, RCIS, CVT, Perfusion, or equivalent clinical background) preferred.

• Previous experience in Structural Heart, LAAO, or Stroke Prevention therapies preferred.

• Experience leading national training or commercial development initiatives preferred.

• Professional education, field training, or sales training experience preferred.

• Prior people leadership or mentorship experience preferred.

• MBA, Master's degree, or advanced healthcare degree preferred.

• Strong analytical skills with experience in utilizing business intelligence platforms and performance metrics.
