This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Direct the formulation and implementation of national clinical education strategies for Abbott's LAA franchise.
• Create, execute, and continuously refine educational pathways that facilitate Amulet procedural success.
• Develop and uphold competency frameworks for Clinical Specialists and Territory Managers that support LAA accounts.
• Produce standardized training materials, procedural guidelines, best practices, and advanced educational content.
• Collaborate with Professional Education and Commercial Development teams to ensure alignment of field education with strategic business aims.
• Act as the clinical development leader for the LAA field organization.
• Design and manage onboarding and advanced development programs for clinical specialists.
• Facilitate in-person and virtual training programs, workshops, and certification initiatives.
• Guide clinical leaders, high-potential specialists, and regional trainers through mentorship.
• Evaluate field clinical proficiency and pinpoint opportunities for performance enhancement.
• Create and advocate for best practices concerning patient selection, procedural workflow, imaging integration, implantation techniques, and post-procedure care.
• Foster procedural excellence through strategic account engagement and consultation.
• Recognize procedural trends and initiate programs that enhance clinical outcomes and efficiency.
• Provide expert advice during complex cases and high-profile account launches.
• Convert clinical insights into educational programs and actionable recommendations.
• Work in tandem with commercial leadership to bolster strategic account initiatives and priority accounts.
• Function as a clinical consultant during customer interactions, physician meetings, and educational programs.
• Partner with Marketing, Clinical Research, Medical Affairs, Professional Education, Training, and Commercial Excellence teams.
• Assist in product launch preparedness, educational planning, and strategic initiatives.
• Support executive-level presentations and business evaluations.
• Identify educational opportunities and propose strategic enhancements as the national representative of the field.
• Create and assess performance metrics, dashboards, and educational KPIs.
• Leverage data to spot trends, forecast educational needs, and evaluate organizational effectiveness.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• At least 8+ years of experience in cardiovascular medical devices, structural heart, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, or related healthcare sectors.
• Proven expertise in LAAO therapies, structural heart procedures, or catheter-based cardiovascular interventions.
• Significant experience in training physicians, allied health professionals, and field-based clinical staff.
• Established track record of developing and executing educational programs on a regional or national scale.
• Strong comprehension of procedural workflows, imaging modalities, and cardiovascular anatomy pertinent to LAA closure procedures.
• Capability to influence and collaborate within a highly matrixed environment.
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and facilitation abilities.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently (up to 60%).
• Advanced clinical degree (RN, NP, PA, RCIS, CVT, Perfusion, or equivalent clinical background) is preferred.
• Previous experience in Structural Heart, LAAO, or Stroke Prevention therapies is preferred.
• Experience in leading national training or commercial development initiatives is preferred.
• Background in professional education, field training, or sales training is preferred.
• Prior experience in people leadership or mentorship is preferred.
• An MBA, Master's degree, or advanced healthcare degree is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in utilizing business intelligence platforms and performance metrics is preferred.
