This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +9 more states.
• Drive profitable growth by acquiring new customers and enhancing relationships with existing customers for both branded and private-label products.
• Formulate and implement customer strategies that accelerate revenue, distribution, and market share growth in retail, mass, and club markets.
• Identify, nurture, and secure new business opportunities.
• Establish strategic partnerships with key customers.
• Lead negotiations with customers, develop joint business plans, and foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Create strategic growth plans aimed at attracting new customers, categories, and channels.
• Oversee the pipeline of new business opportunities from initial prospecting through to commercialization.
• Develop tailored customer growth strategies for both branded and private-label products.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, promotional agreements, and annual business plans.
• Create and present business cases to secure new distribution, category expansion, and long-term partnerships.
• Cultivate executive-level relationships with customers.
• Collaborate with teams in Category Insights, Marketing, Product Development, Operations, Demand Planning, Procurement, and Finance.
• Utilize syndicated, customer, and market data to craft fact-based selling narratives and recommendations.
• Recognize market trends, category opportunities, pricing dynamics, and competitive activities.
• Achieve annual targets for revenue, volume, market share, and profitability.
• Facilitate Joint Business Planning processes.
• Work with internal teams on commercialization, forecasting, and customer commitments.
• Manage relationships with brokers, distributors, and strategic partners.
• Stay informed about the retail landscape, customer strategies, and emerging market opportunities.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Over 5 years of successful sales experience in consumer packaged goods, food manufacturing, or related sectors.
• Proven success in acquiring new customers and developing business opportunities.
• Established track record of securing new business and converting opportunities from concept to commercialization.
• Experience dealing with major retail, mass, club, or foodservice customers.
• Strong skills in negotiation and contract management.
• Demonstrated ability to create and implement strategic account plans that yield measurable growth.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in utilizing syndicated data, customer insights, and financial analysis.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
• Self-motivated individual with a high degree of accountability, initiative, and follow-through.
• Ability to navigate complex organizations and influence cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing brokers and distributor partners is preferred.
• Familiarity with private-label shelf-stable foods, agricultural products, beans, pulses, or Hispanic foods is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
