This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Implement strategic and tactical plans to achieve optimal coverage, reimbursement, and patient access for Chiesi Global Rare Disease products across national, state, and local government channels in the United States.
• Establish strategic partnerships with designated government accounts.
• Obtain formulary and/or medical policy access for Chiesi Global Rare Disease products.
• Collaborate with Patient Services teams, Specialty Pharmacy vendors, infusion centers, facility purchasing teams, GPOs, field reimbursement teams, and HUB services to resolve reimbursement challenges.
• Partner with the Market Access Field Reimbursement team, Patient Services, and Chiesi Total Care.
• Collaborate with current National Account Directors and the Field Reimbursement team to achieve access objectives.
• Work alongside the sales team to meet company performance goals.
• Assess and negotiate contracts for selected current and future products with US payers and government-related entities.
• Act as the primary Chiesi Global Rare Diseases contact for assigned government accounts.
• A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech sector.
• Ideally, 7+ years of experience in payer-facing roles involving rare/orphan products.
• At least 5 years of experience working with State Medicaid Pharmacy Directors, Medical Pharmacy Benefit Administrators, and federal agencies such as CMS, VA, DoD, Tricare, and Indian Health.
• In-depth knowledge of the current US payer landscape and dynamics, including formulary, utilization management, benefit management, buy/bill, and medical strategies.
• Established relationships with key individuals within government channels.
• Comprehensive understanding of current reimbursement trends and Specialty Pharmacy/HUB services.
• Proven initiative, creativity, and ability to build strategic relationships.
• Strong capability to develop, articulate, and execute successful strategic initiatives.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and solid business acumen.
• Proficient in office and presentation software.
• Effective negotiation skills at the executive level.
• Strong relationship management and consultative sales abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and multifunctional resources simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook) and Adobe.
• Familiarity with payer formulary access platforms and data-driven interactive dashboards.
• Graduate or Pharmacy degree preferred.
• Additional experience in sales, marketing, payer marketing, or contracting is a plus.
• Experience working with Rare Disease/Orphan/Specialty products is preferred.
