MySQL Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage highly available and efficient MySQL databases.

• Provide support for production databases across multiple global data centers.

• Configure, monitor, and resolve issues related to MySQL replication and clustering.

• Generate database reports and queries for internal stakeholders.

• Conduct performance tuning, backup and recovery, and proactive monitoring.

• Diagnose complex database issues to ensure system availability.

• Automate database-related tasks using Python, Shell, or Bash scripting.

• Document database architectures, processes, and operational procedures.

• Adhere to change management protocols for production environments.

• Collaborate closely with Operations and Development teams to design, develop, and sustain mission-critical, scalable databases.

• Assist in modernization initiatives towards cloud-based database environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of overall professional experience.

• More than 3 years of hands-on experience in MySQL administration.

• Familiarity with GCP or AWS cloud database technologies.

• In-depth understanding of MySQL implementation, performance optimization, and master-master replication.

• Proficient in MySQL administration tools and monitoring performance metrics, including IO, CPU, and queries.

• Experience in writing SQL queries for reporting and analytics purposes.

• Strong knowledge of Linux for effective database administration.

• Scripting proficiency in Python, Shell, or Bash.

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Familiarity with SQL Server administration is considered a plus.

• Experience with data warehousing, such as Google BigQuery, is a plus.

• Knowledge of automation tools for database provisioning and monitoring is an advantage.
