Database Administration, Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide development assistance for a Department of Defense client.

• Conduct software development and manage database administration using Cincom SUPRA PDM, MANTIS, COBOL, and JCL.

• Offer technical support and guidance in the assessment and acceptance of deliverables related to system platform modernization.

• Support a z/OS IBM mainframe system featuring various online and batch-processing systems/subsystems.

• Manage multiple SUPRA PDM databases.

• Update COBOL copybooks to align with changes in the database.

• Oversee Total-File-Views utilized by online programmers to engage with database files.

• Execute directory maintenance for SUPRA PDM database files.

• Assess the database environment, document its functionalities, and create interaction diagrams to facilitate MOCAS platform modernization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience with a BS/BA; at least 6 years with an MS/MA; at least 3 years with a PhD; or 12 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Must hold an Active Public Trust clearance.

• Proficiency in Cincom SUPRA PDM.

• Experience with Cincom MANTIS (Total-file-views).

• Knowledge of COBOL and z/OS.

• Familiarity with JCL.

• Understanding of Storage Management.

• Proficient in MS Office/365 and MS Windows.

• Experience with Visio.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Solid understanding of quality assurance methodologies.

• Ability to follow intricate instructions, work independently, or collaborate in a team as necessary.

• Desired knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for the complete product development life-cycle.

• Competence in prioritizing, planning, organizing, and managing multiple tasks effectively.

• Ability to effectively present to and interact with all levels of management.

• Highly adaptable and flexible in a dynamic environment.

• Security+ Certification is preferred.
